Brief Summary of Christian Faith

God wants all people to live in a personal relationship with Him. (1 Timothy 2:3-4)

He offers this relationship as His free gift to us. (Romans 6:23)

Commitment to the Mission of Concordia Lutheran Church

As a forgiven child of God, and with a sincere intent to strengthen and grow my faith, I promise to participate in the mission of Concordia Lutheran Church through my F.A.I.T.H. Foundation:

- Fellowship with God
I will strive to participate in an ongoing Bible Class on Sunday morning or during the week. (Acts 2:42, 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Raise my baptized children who live with me in the Christian faith, assisted by the education ministries of Concordia Lutheran Church. (Proverbs 22:6)
Take time out for God daily in private, personal Bible study or by using devotional materials. (Ephesians 6:18)
Attending Worship

- Attend worship services weekly unless travel, illness, vacation or work prevents me. (Hebrews 10:25)
Partake of the Lord’s Supper regularly. (1 Cor. 11:23-32)

Find a place to share in the ministry of Concordia Lutheran Church. (Ephesians 4:11-13)

Financially support the mission of Concordia Lutheran Church, making it my goal to contribute a minimum of a tithe (10%). (Malachi 3:10-12)

Live a Christian life, guided by God’s Holy Spirit. (Galatians 5:19-26)
Receive spiritual guidance should Satan deceive and lead me into a life of sin, and give spiritual guidance should I see my fellow Christian being deceived into a life of sin. (Matthew 18:15, Galatians 6:1-10)
Live my life as a witness of Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:8)

Membership Covenant

I have read the Brief Summary of Christian Faith and the Commitment to the Mission of Concordia Lutheran Church. I accept the teachings of the Lutheran Church as summarized in Martin Luther’s Small Catechism and will be faithful to the teachings of the Bible. I understand what I can expect and what is expected of me as a member of this congregation. With God’s help, I promise to be a faithful and committed member of Concordia Lutheran Church, San Antonio, Texas.

(Note: Do not list names of children who have yet to complete Junior or High School Confirmation. Do not list names of adults who did not attend the class or who do not desire membership at this time.)
